It started with three quotes and a $14,200 gap
In 2015, before Retex was a roofing company, someone set out to get a single roof replaced. They called nineteen roofing companies. Six answered. Four came out to look. Three sent a quote.
Those three prices ran from $6,800 to $21,000 for the same roof — and not one of them explained what the difference was. That is not a pricing problem. That is a whole industry betting the homeowner will never find out.
Retex was built to be the opposite of that. The name comes from retro and vertex — a modern turn on a traditional trade.
Wes Lewis brought it to North Central Florida and has run the Florida company since 2021, from an address in Alachua County. Everything further down this page — answering the phone, going up on the roof, handing over the photos, publishing the warranty before you sign — is a correction to something that went wrong on that one job.

A free inspection means someone on the roof and in the attic, not a guess from the driveway or a satellite image.
You get photos of what we found
You should not have to take a stranger's word for the condition of something you cannot see. You get the pictures, whatever they show.
A written price that is itemised
A number on its own is useless for comparing quotes. Ours says what is being done, so you can hold it against anyone else's.
The warranty is published before you sign

We tell you when you do not need us
Plenty of roofs we inspect have years left in them. Saying so costs us a job and is the entire reason people send their neighbours our way.

That structure matters more than it sounds. After a storm, North Central Florida fills up with crews who registered somewhere else, work a season and leave. A warranty is only worth what the company behind it is still worth in five years — and you can check ours on the state register in about a minute.
Wes is also the primary contact on the North Central Florida Apartment Association supplier list, where Retex sits at Platinum level. That is where a good deal of the multi-family and HOA work comes from.
